This assorted collection of dwarf rhododendrons features Rhododendron impeditum, a compact evergreen shrub prized for its dense, mounding growth habit and profuse spring blooms. Reaching only 1 to 2 feet in height and spread at maturity, it is well suited for borders, foundation plantings, rock gardens, and containers where space is limited.

Rhododendron impeditum produces small, funnel-shaped flowers typically in shades of lavender, purple, or blue-violet in early to mid-spring. The foliage is small, dark green, and aromatic when crushed, remaining attractive year-round. Plants are cold-hardy and perform well in USDA zones 5 through 8.

Sold in 1.5-gallon containers, these plants are ready to transplant. For best results, plant in well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) with partial shade to full sun. Water regularly until established and mulch around the base to retain moisture and protect roots. Avoid planting in waterlogged areas, as rhododendrons are sensitive to root rot.
