Fresh wild-caught Opah fillet, also known as Moonfish, sold by the pound. Opah is a large, deep-water ocean fish prized for its rich, buttery flavor and firm texture similar to swordfish, but with a more delicate finish and less pronounced fishiness.
The top loin cut comes from the dorsal portion of the fish and is well-suited for grilling, pan-searing, or broiling. Its high fat content keeps it moist during cooking, making it forgiving for a variety of preparations. The flesh has a mild, sweet flavor that pairs well with citrus, herbs, and light sauces. Opah is sourced from both Atlantic and Pacific Ocean waters and is available fresh and wild-caught.
