Yukikage "Snow Shadow" is a Tokubetsu Junmai sake crafted by Kinshihai Shuzo, a celebrated brewery located in Gosen City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. Sold in a case of 12 bottles at 720ml each, this sake exemplifies the elegant, food-friendly style for which Niigata is renowned. It is brewed using a blend of Gohyaku-man-goku and Koshi-ibuki rice milled to 58%, fermented with the S-3 yeast strain, and drawing from an on-site well known as "Tengu's Spring Water."

The sake pours with aromas of green apple and apple marzipan, followed by a soft, light-bodied palate with notes of toasty brown rice and a long, clean finish. Its Sake Meter Value of +4 and acidity of 1.3 place it in a balanced, slightly dry profile. It can be enjoyed slightly chilled, at room temperature, or gently warmed, making it a versatile companion for sushi and sashimi, grilled salmon, roasted yellowtail, and seafood gyoza.

Kinshihai Shuzo has earned gold medals at the Japan National Sake Competition in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2014. Yukikage "Snow Shadow" itself won the gold award at the US National Sake Appraisal "Joy of Sake" in 2006.
