Fresh Wild Coho Salmon Fillet is a premium Pacific salmon sourced from the cold, clean waters of Alaska and sold fresh by the pound. These skin-on fillets are typically 1 to 2 inches thick, with mild, clean-flavored flesh that is slightly fattier and more delicate than other wild Pacific salmon species such as sockeye, making it an approachable choice for a wide range of cooking styles.
Coho salmon spend their lives in the cold North Pacific feeding naturally on shrimp, krill, and small fish before returning to freshwater rivers to spawn. This natural lifecycle produces firm, richly flavored flesh loaded with heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids including EPA and DHA. Wild coho is an excellent source of high-quality protein, potassium, and vitamin D, with zero carbohydrates per serving.
To prepare, preheat oven to 400°F, season the fillet as desired, and bake in a lightly greased pan until the flesh is opaque and flakes easily with a fork, reaching an internal temperature of 145°F. Coho salmon also excels when grilled, broiled, or pan-seared. Once thawed, refrigerate and consume within 1 to 2 days for optimal freshness and food safety.
