Kirkland Signature Fresh Wild Ahi Tuna is a premium yellowfin tuna sold fresh by the pound at Costco. Ahi tuna — meaning "yellowfin" in Hawaiian — is prized for its firm texture, rich flavor, and deep red color, making it ideal for grilling, searing, poke bowls, or sashimi-style preparations.
This tuna is wild caught in the Philippines and processed in the United States. Each package typically contains approximately 2 lbs of fresh tuna steaks, averaging $30–$35 per package. Because it has never been previously frozen, it can be frozen at home to extend its shelf life beyond the sell-by date, which is approximately 3 days after the pack date.
When cooking, the USDA recommends a minimum internal temperature of 145°F for fish. For a seared preparation, many prefer a brief high-heat sear to achieve a caramelized crust while leaving the center rare or medium-rare. Available in the refrigerated seafood section of the meat department.
