Rutherford Hill Merlot Napa Valley is a refined expression of the classic Bordeaux varietal from one of Napa Valley's most celebrated Merlot-focused wineries. This 750 ml bottle showcases Rutherford Hill's decades-long commitment to crafting elegant, cellar-worthy Merlot from their estate vineyards.

The wine is primarily Merlot, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Syrah. Grapes are tank fermented with twice-daily pump overs before maturing approximately 14–15 months in new French oak barrels, producing approximately 15% alcohol by volume. The result is a deep ruby red wine with aromas of blackberry, raspberry, cranberry, cocoa, and cedar, leading to a palate of vivid red and dark fruits layered with cedar, clover, mocha, and a lingering, polished finish with refined tannins.

Critically acclaimed, recent vintages have earned 92–93 points from Wine Spectator and James Suckling, with the 2021 vintage ranked #25 on the Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2024.
