A 7-gallon container magnolia tree offered in an assortment of popular ornamental varieties. These flowering trees are celebrated for their spectacular spring blooms, which arrive in early to mid spring in shades of pink, lavender, or white depending on the variety. Common varieties sold in this assortment include Japanese magnolias such as the Ann Magnolia and Jane Magnolia, both prized for their cold hardiness and dense floral displays before foliage appears.
At 7 gallons, these trees ship in a mature container size that establishes quickly and makes an immediate landscape impression. Depending on variety, mature height ranges from 8 to 12 feet with a similar spread, making them well-suited for residential yards, borders, and focal plantings. They are hardy across USDA Zones 4 through 9 and tolerate full sun to partial shade with regular watering.
Plant in spring for best root establishment. Magnolias prefer moist, slightly acidic, well-draining soil amended with organic matter. After planting, water two to three times per week for the first several months and cover the root zone with 2 inches of mulch to retain moisture. Once established, these trees are low-maintenance perennials that return each spring with a striking floral show and vibrant green summer foliage that attracts pollinators including butterflies and bees.
