This premium 10 lb box contains wild-caught Alaskan Red King Crab (Paralithodes camtschaticus) legs and claws, fully cooked and frozen at peak freshness. The 16-20 count designation refers to 16 to 20 individual pieces per pound, representing a generous mid-sized grade well suited for entertaining or large meals.
Wild Alaska Red King Crab is the largest of the king crab species, with a leg span that can reach 5 feet and a body weight up to 24 lbs. Harvested from the cold, pristine waters of the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska using traditional pot fishing methods, this crab is certified under the Alaska Responsible Fisheries Management (RFM) standard for sustainable harvest. The fishery has produced over 854 million pounds since 1975 and is famously featured on the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch."
The meat is prized for its rich, sweet flavor, firm texture, and luxurious eating experience. As a complete protein source containing all nine essential amino acids, king crab is also exceptionally nutritious, delivering 16g of protein, 351mg of omega-3 fatty acids, and 9.8 mcg of vitamin B-12 (over 400% of the daily value) per 3 oz serving. It is also a strong source of magnesium, phosphorus, selenium, zinc, and copper. Because it is a saltwater species, king crab legs are naturally higher in sodium.
The legs and claws arrive pre-cooked and frozen, making preparation simple: steam, boil, grill, or bake to reheat and serve. No thawing is required for steaming or boiling, and the shells split easily for effortless extraction of the generous white meat inside.
