Dry Creek Vineyard Heritage Vines Zinfandel is a premium California red wine from one of Sonoma County's most celebrated wineries. Established in 1972, Dry Creek Vineyard holds the distinction of being Dry Creek Valley's first new winery following Prohibition, founded by pioneer David Stare who planted the region's first Sauvignon Blanc vines.
This Heritage Vines Zinfandel is a carefully crafted blend featuring 79% Zinfandel, 20% Petite Sirah, and 1% Carignane, all sourced from Sonoma vines that are 20 years old or more. The wine presents moderately dark in the glass with transparent edges. Fresh aromas of earth and soil emerge alongside campfire notes and ripe dark fruit. On the palate, expect a combination of red and dark fruit with spicy cherry leading to black licorice and pepper notes, finishing with subtle mocha undertones.
The wine has 14.5% alcohol by volume and pairs well with a variety of cuisines. This Heritage Vines bottling represents excellent value for a wine of this pedigree and quality, making it suitable for both everyday enjoyment and special occasions.
