Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a celebrated Bordeaux-style red wine from Beringer Vineyards, one of California's most storied wineries, established in Napa Valley in 1876. Sourced from Knights Valley in Sonoma County — a small, picturesque appellation nestled between Napa Valley and Alexander Valley — this wine reflects the region's cobbled alluvial soils and warm growing season tempered by cool Pacific Ocean breezes.
The wine is a Bordeaux-varietal blend led predominantly by Cabernet Sauvignon and complemented by Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. It pours a deep, opaque plum color and delivers rich aromas of vibrant boysenberry, strawberry preserves, and cassis alongside earthier notes of crushed stone, iron, Bay Laurel, and cedar. The palate reveals baking spice from well-integrated oak, wild lavender, and bittersweet chocolate, with sandy, fine-grained tannins and a velvety-rich, plush mouthfeel. The finish is long, savory, and mouthwatering with elegant acidity.
Beringer has owned and farmed its Knights Valley vineyards since the mid-1960s, making this one of the appellation's benchmark wines. Built to age and develop further complexity over several years, it also drinks beautifully upon release. Awarded 94 points by James Suckling and 92 points by Wine Enthusiast.
