Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey is a classic Kentucky straight rye whiskey produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, where whiskey has been made for over two hundred years. This 6-year-old small batch rye, affectionately known as "Baby Saz" in New Orleans, is crafted with a high rye mash bill and aged in new charred oak barrels, bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV).

The whiskey displays a rich mahogany to deep amber copper color. On the nose, it offers aromas of vanilla, clove, anise, and pepper, with notes of dehydrated orange segments, candied wintergreen, toffee, and butter roasted nuts. The palate intensifies with flavors of cinnamon, crumb cake, black pepper, and candied orange zest, along with baked apricot, cardamom, vanilla blossom, and a touch of anise. The finish is smooth, crisp, and dry with enduring spice notes of clove, cinnamon, anise, and orange-blossom honey.

This is the product that built the Sazerac company's whiskey empire. Although the original Sazerac cocktail was made with Cognac, it became famous when they swapped in Sazerac Rye. The whiskey has won multiple awards including Gold medals at both the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition and San Francisco World Spirits Competition, a 94.5 rating from Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible, and 95 points from Wine Enthusiast with a "Best Buy" rating.
