Prunotto Barolo Bussia is a prestigious red wine from the Bussia cru in the Barolo DOCG appellation of Piedmont, Italy. Crafted from 100% Nebbiolo grapes sourced from eight hectares in the renowned Bussia vineyard, this wine is produced by the historic Prunotto winery and sold in 750ML bottles.
The wine presents an intensely ruby red color with light garnet hues. The nose is complex and precise, offering notes of red oranges and pink pepper leading to hints of small wild berries and roots. On the palate, it is full and fruity with excellent structure and silky tannins, accompanied by extraordinary freshness and a persistent finish that echoes the aromatic complexity found on the nose. Critics have praised this wine for its exciting minerality, savory layers of grilled citrus and plums, and nuanced dusty tannins, awarding it 94 points from James Suckling, 94 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, and 94 points from Vinous.
Barolo is known as the "King of Italian Wines" and is made from Nebbiolo, one of Italy's most noble grape varieties. Best enjoyed with aged cheeses, braised meats, risotto, and hearty pasta dishes. While approachable upon release, this wine has excellent aging potential and will continue to develop complexity over many years.
