The Sony WH-1000XM3 are premium over-ear wireless headphones featuring Sony's industry-leading active noise cancellation technology. Powered by the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1 chip, these headphones deliver exceptional noise isolation, particularly effective against human voices and high-frequency sounds while keeping audio circuitry free from interference.
The headphones use 40mm dynamic drivers with aluminum-coated Liquid Crystal Polymer diaphragms, producing a wide frequency response of 4–40,000 Hz for detailed mids and highs with punchy bass. Wireless connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 4.2, with support for LDAC high-fidelity streaming (up to 990 kb/s), aptX HD, and AAC decoding. NFC enables one-touch pairing with compatible devices.
Battery life reaches up to 30 hours with noise cancellation enabled, and a 10-minute quick charge via USB-C provides 5 additional hours of playback. Adaptive Sound Control uses motion sensors to automatically detect your activity—running, walking, standing, or riding—and adjusts noise cancellation accordingly. A barometric pressure sensor further optimizes performance at high altitude during flights. The Quick Attention feature lets you instantly hear your surroundings by placing a hand over the right earcup, without removing the headphones.
Touch controls on the earcup allow you to manage music playback, answer calls, and adjust volume. A three-microphone system filters background noise for clearer call quality. Both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa are supported via a dedicated button. The headphones fold flat into an included carrying case, and the package includes a 3.5mm audio cable, USB-C charging cable, and airline adapter. Weight is just 9 ounces for all-day comfort.
