Domaines Ott Château Romassan Bandol Rosé is a prestigious rosé wine from the AOC Bandol appellation in Provence, France. Château Romassan, acquired by the Ott family in 1956, is nestled between the Sainte-Baume massif and the shores of the Mediterranean at the foot of the authentic Provençal village of Le Castellet, encompassing 83 hectares of vines with an average age of 14 years.
The wine is crafted from a blend led by Mourvèdre, complemented by Grenache, Cinsault, and a small contribution of Syrah. The vines grow in typical Bandol terroirs characterized by arid soils of limestone, sandstone, and sandy marl, benefiting from exceptionally dry and sunny Mediterranean weather. This terroir, combined with meticulous vine tending, gives the wine its distinguished elegance, fullness, and taut character. The Mourvèdre grape provides solidity, structure, and exceptional ageing potential, while Grenache contributes full-bodied texture and Cinsault adds softness.
In the glass, this rosé presents a pale, ethereal pink color tinted with gold or orange hues. The bouquet releases aromas of citrus fruits and white orchard flowers. On the palate, the wine is lively and bright with notes of pink grapefruit and fleshy fruit, revealing hints of fruit tart as it opens up. The finish is complex and lasting, reflecting the nobility of one of France's most demanding appellations.
