Fresh Wild Taku King Salmon Fillet is wild-caught Chinook salmon sourced from the pristine waters of Southeast Alaska's Taku River region, harvested by Taku Fisheries based in Juneau, Alaska. King Salmon — also known as Chinook — is the largest and most prized of the five Pacific salmon species, celebrated for its exceptionally rich, buttery flavor and deep, vibrant orange flesh. Sold fresh by the pound, each fillet delivers the unmatched quality of premium wild Alaskan seafood.
Taku Fisheries catches King Salmon primarily by trolling, a highly selective method that produces the highest-grade fish and preserves individual fish quality from the moment of catch. Only sashimi-quality, premium-grade fish are hand-processed and packed at Taku's Juneau facility. King Salmon's naturally high fat and oil content makes it the most forgiving Pacific salmon to cook — its rich marbling ensures a moist, juicy fillet whether grilled, baked, pan-seared, or broiled. The peak harvest season runs from May through July.
Wild King Salmon is an outstanding source of heart-healthy long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA), high-quality protein, vitamin D, and B vitamins. Its superior fat content sets it apart from leaner salmon species and makes it ideal for preparations that showcase its natural richness.
