Castello di Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva is an accessible example of the unique style and character of this renowned Tuscan winery. The wine is made from Sangiovese grapes with Canaiolo and Colorino, sourced from vineyards at Barberino Val d'Elsa on the western edge of the Chianti Classico district. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled truncated conical steel vats with délestage and pumping over for 18-20 days. The wine is then aged for approximately 18 months, with one part in 3,800-liter oak casks and the other in second-passage tonneaux.
