Fresh wild sablefish, also known as black cod, is a premium Pacific seafood prized for its exceptionally rich, sweet, buttery flavor and silky, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Harvested from the cold, pristine waters off Alaska and the Washington and Oregon Coast, sablefish boasts one of the highest omega-3 fatty acid contents of any fish in the sea. This product is previously frozen to lock in peak freshness and is sold per pound at the Costco meat and seafood counter.
Sablefish is a coveted choice among food enthusiasts and high-end restaurants worldwide. It is highly versatile and well suited to a variety of cooking methods, including roasting, broiling, pan-searing, poaching, and smoking. Its high natural fat content makes it exceptionally forgiving to cook, staying moist and tender even under high heat. It is especially popular in Japanese cuisine, most famously as a miso-glazed preparation, and pairs beautifully with Asian-inspired marinades, citrus, herbs, and light sauces.
