Fresh wild-caught Mahi Mahi fillet, sold by the pound at Costco's seafood counter. Mahi Mahi (also known as dolphinfish or dorado) is a lean, firm-fleshed whitefish with a mild, slightly sweet flavor that appeals even to those who typically shy away from seafood. The fillets are boneless and skinless, making them straightforward to prepare in a wide variety of ways.
Mahi Mahi is highly versatile in the kitchen and holds up well to high-heat methods like grilling, pan-searing, and broiling. It can also be baked, poached, or cooked in an air fryer. Cook to an internal temperature of 145°F. Its firm, meaty texture makes it an excellent choice for fish tacos, sandwiches, and wraps. The mild flavor pairs beautifully with tropical fruit salsas, citrus marinades, and blackening seasonings.
As a lean protein source, Mahi Mahi is naturally low in fat and high in protein, with no carbohydrates. It is a good source of B vitamins, selenium, and potassium.
