Fresh, wild-caught mahi mahi fillet sold by the pound from Costco's seafood counter. Mahi mahi, also known as dolphinfish or dorado, is a tropical saltwater fish prized for its mild, slightly sweet flavor and firm, flaky texture. Each fillet is boneless, making it easy to prepare with minimal effort.
This versatile fish works well with a wide range of cooking methods including grilling, baking, broiling, pan-searing, and air frying. It pairs beautifully with fresh mango salsa, blackening seasoning, or a simple preparation of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mahi mahi is also an excellent choice for fish tacos, poke bowls, and ceviche. When grilling, cook over medium-high heat for approximately 3 to 4 minutes per side. When baking, cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 12 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mahi mahi is a lean, high-protein fish that is naturally low in fat and carbohydrates. It is a good source of niacin, vitamin B12, phosphorus, and selenium.
