Fresh wild Pacific rockfish fillet, sold by the pound. Rockfish (Sebastes spp.), also known as Rock Cod or Pacific Snapper, is a mild white fish with a slightly sweet flavor and medium-firm texture. This wild-caught fish is harvested from Canadian waters off the Pacific coast. Rockfish is an extremely versatile fish that works well for most cooking methods including pan-frying, air frying, poaching, grilling, and baking. The fish features medium-sized flakes and is an excellent substitute for cod, tilapia, or haddock, making it ideal for fish tacos, fish and chips, or fish chowder.
Rockfish is a lean protein source with exceptional nutritional value. The fish is low in fat and extremely high in protein, ranking among the world's most protein-rich foods. Rockfish provides high levels of Omega-3 fatty acids despite being lean, offering 3.5 times more Omega-3 than tilapia or yellowfin tuna. The fish is also rich in micronutrients including vitamin D, vitamin B12, selenium, phosphorus, and potassium.
