Colgin Cellars IX Estate Proprietary Red is one of Napa Valley's most celebrated and collectible wines, produced from estate vineyards perched high on Pritchard Hill in St. Helena at elevations ranging from 1,100 to 1,300 feet. This prestigious Bordeaux blend is the flagship expression of Colgin Cellars, a winery renowned for producing exquisitely handcrafted wines using neo-classical winemaking methods, small yields, gentle handling, attentive sorting, and meticulous blending.

The IX Estate blend is composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot—proportions that vary slightly by vintage. The wine displays aromas of dark fruits including blackberries, mulberries, and blackcurrants, layered with graphite, pencil lead, bouquet garni, wild sage, iron, and earthy complexity. On the palate it is full-bodied with firm yet polished tannins and exceptional structure, built for long-term aging of 20 to 50 years. With multiple perfect 100-point scores from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, the IX Estate is widely considered among the finest Cabernet-based wines produced anywhere in the world.

The Colgin winery, completed in 2002, sits at the northern end of the IX Estate and provides a sweeping view of Lake Hennessey. It is sold in 750ML bottles and offered at Costco in a 12-bottle case format.
