Fresh Wild Taku King Salmon Fillet is a premium wild-caught Chinook (King) salmon sourced from the pristine waters of the Taku River in Southeast Alaska. King salmon is the largest and most prized Pacific salmon species, renowned for its rich, buttery flavor and high omega-3 fatty acid content.
Taku-caught King salmon is harvested using troll-fishing methods, which are widely regarded as producing the highest-quality fish available. The trolling technique minimizes stress on the fish and ensures each fillet is of exceptional, often sashimi-grade quality. The fish spend 3 to 7 years at sea before returning to their natal river, averaging 20 to 40 pounds, which contributes to the deep, full flavor and generous fat marbling found in the fillets.
The high fat content makes King salmon exceptionally forgiving to cook โ it remains moist and flavorful even if slightly overcooked. It is suitable for grilling, roasting, pan-searing, or serving raw as sashimi. Peak wild season typically runs May through July.
