The McNab Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a single-vineyard expression from the historic McNab Ranch, the agricultural heart of Bonterra Vineyards in Mendocino County, California. One of the original Certified Biodynamic® vineyards in the United States, McNab Ranch was once a sheep ranch nestled in a protected box canyon, transformed over a century into a world-class winegrowing estate renowned for harmonizing grapevines with the surrounding natural habitat's rhythms and wildlife.
This 2020 vintage is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Petit Sirah, clocking in at 14.2% alcohol by volume. The wine opens with engaging aromas of blackcurrant, Mission fig, and star anise, backed by deeper tones of dark chocolate and Portobello mushroom. On the palate, polished tannins frame notions of quince preserves and mineral, with muted notes of nougat, espresso, and grilled toast leading into a long, lingering finish. Winemaker Sebastian Donoso crafted this wine to deliver wonderful complexity and elegance, with round, full fruit and age-worthy structure expected to drink best from 2025 to 2035.
