Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Fay" Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is one of Napa Valley's most storied single-vineyard wines, produced from the historic Fay Vineyard in the Stags Leap District. The vineyard was originally planted in 1961 by Nathan Fay — the first planting of Cabernet Sauvignon in what would become the Stags Leap District AVA — and was acquired by Stag's Leap Wine Cellars in 1986 in his honor. The first dedicated single-vineyard FAY bottling was released with the 1990 vintage.

The wine is celebrated for its supple, voluptuous character, offering fragrant aromas of boysenberry, cherry pie, cassis, sweet spice, and a touch of gardenia. On the palate, it shows a velvety mouthfeel with lush, polished tannins and flavors of blackberry and blueberry, underpinned by a well-balanced structure. Critic scores for recent vintages have reached as high as 98 points (Wine Enthusiast), 95 points (Robert Parker's Wine Advocate), and 95 points (Wine Spectator). ABV is approximately 14.5%.

This estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with herb-crusted lamb chops, savory plum tart with goat cheese, or Thai peanut and shrimp salad. Stag's Leap Wine Cellars gained worldwide recognition when its 1973 Cask 23 defeated four Bordeaux first-growths in the famous 1976 Paris blind tasting, cementing California's reputation for world-class Cabernet Sauvignon.
