Costco's Fresh Coho Salmon Fillet is a farm-raised, skin-on fillet sold by the pound in the meat and seafood department. Coho salmon (also known as Silver salmon) is prized for its mild, delicate flavor and firm, orange-pink flesh — offering a taste that sits between the richness of Atlantic salmon and the boldness of wild Sockeye.
Farm-raised Coho salmon is a leaner alternative to farmed Atlantic salmon, with a balanced profile of omega-3 fatty acids, high-quality protein, and essential B vitamins including B6 and B12. The flesh holds up well to a wide range of cooking methods including baking, pan-searing, grilling, broiling, and air frying. Cook to an internal temperature of 125–135°F for best results; the USDA recommends 145°F for food safety.
As with all fresh salmon sold at Costco, this fillet has been previously flash-frozen during processing to eliminate parasites, then thawed before sale. Purchase fresh for the best presentation and cook within 1–2 days for optimal quality.
