Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia is a prestigious Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC wine from Tuscany, Italy. First produced in 1948 and commercially released in 1968, Sassicaia is recognized as the original "Super Tuscan" and remains the only single-estate wine in Italy to have its own DOC designation, granted in 1994.

This elegant red blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) with Cabernet Franc (15%), sourced from estate vineyards in Castiglioncello, Aia Nuova, Cerreta, Sassicaia di Sopra, and San Martino. The grapes are handpicked, destemmed, and fermented with natural yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks before aging in French oak barriques.

The wine displays an intense, concentrated ruby color with elegant, complex aromas of red fruit. On the palate, it is rich and dense yet harmonious, with sweet, balanced tannins and a long finish that ensures extraordinary longevity. The name "Sassicaia" means "the place of many stones," referring to the rocky, calcareous soils rich in marl and pebbles at elevations of 100-360 meters above sea level.

Sassicaia has received exceptional critical acclaim, including 99 points for the 2021 vintage and 97 points for the 2022 vintage from Jeb Dunnuck. Wine experts Serena Sutcliffe MW and David Peppercorn MW have praised it as "one of the greatest wine creations of the century."
