Bonterra Merlot is a rich, velvety California red wine crafted from 100% certified organic grapes. Produced by Bonterra Organic Estates, a Certified B Corp winery committed to sustainable and regenerative farming, this wine reflects a deep respect for the land and environment.

Following harvest, the certified organic grapes are gently crushed, destemmed, and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages for 16 months in a combination of new and neutral French and American oak, resulting in a smooth, balanced Merlot with refined depth and supple texture. The blend is approximately 79% Merlot rounded out with Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, and other red varietals. Low sulfites are added only just before bottling for stability.

On the nose, aromas of blueberry, plum, and salted chocolate lead into a palate of ripe Bing cherry, mocha, and boysenberry. The wine is medium-bodied with elegant tannins, a velvety-smooth finish, and a subtle thread of dried herbs. It pairs beautifully with grilled meats, pasta dishes, and soft cheeses. Awarded 90 points by Wine Enthusiast and 92 points by The Tasting Panel for the 2019 vintage.
