Wild-caught red king crab legs, pre-cooked and ready to heat and serve. Red king crab is the largest commercially-fished crab species, weighing up to 24 pounds with a formidable 5-foot leg span. The meat delivers a rich, sweet flavor that closely resembles lobster meat. These premium crab legs are sized at 4-7 count per pound, indicating super colossal jumbo pieces with substantial meat content.
The product is sold previously frozen and defrosted in the refrigerated seafood section. Each leg contains generous portions of tender, succulent crabmeat with the distinctive sweet taste that red king crab is prized for. The thick, spiny shells require a crab mallet or cracker to access the meat. Available in both leg and claw portions, with the Merus cut offering the largest leg segment shaped like a cigar with maximum meat per portion.
To prepare, thaw overnight in the refrigerator if frozen, soak in cold water for at least 15 minutes to remove the salt-water glaze, and reheat by steaming or boiling for one minute. Serve with fresh lemon, garlic, or traditional melted butter. Wild-caught from sustainable fisheries, primarily sourced from Alaskan waters where red king crab accounts for 75% of the Alaska catch.
