Fresh wild-caught Pacific white shrimp harvested from sustainable U.S. fisheries off the coasts of North Carolina to Texas. These premium shrimp are known for their sweet, flavorful taste without the iodine notes found in other large shrimp varieties. The meat is translucent pink to gray when raw and turns pearly white with pink and red shadings when cooked.
Wild Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus setiferus) grow up to 7 or 8 inches in length with long antennae that extend 2.5 to 3 times their body length. Their bodies display light gray coloring with green coloration on the tail and a yellow band on the abdomen. These shrimp are slightly more tender than other varieties with shells that are somewhat softer and easier to peel, making them ideal for grilling, frying, or adding to pasta dishes and salads.
