Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro (Gold) is one of Italy's most celebrated red wines, a Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG produced exclusively in exceptional vintages from the heart of Tuscany. First crafted in 1947, the Gold label represents the pinnacle of the Riserva Ducale lineup, earning Ruffino the distinction of being an official royal supplier — a heritage dating back to the Duke of Aosta's 1890 visit to Pontassieve. This wine carries the rare "Riserva" designation within its name, having pioneered the reserve concept well before the official classification existed.

The blend is approximately 80% Sangiovese complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and other complementary grapes grown in clay and limestone soils enriched by galestro, the characteristic stone of the Chianti Classico zone. On the nose, a complex bouquet unfolds with floral violets, ripe cherries, wild berries, and plum, layered with spicy hints of tobacco, cloves, and a distinctive eucalyptus finish. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet elegant, with well-integrated tannins, vibrant Sangiovese acidity, and a long, persistent finish.

Best served at 16–18°C (60–64°F), the Ducale Gold pairs beautifully with traditional Tuscan dishes, grilled meats, fresh pasta with rich meat sauces, and game. The 2021 vintage was ranked No. 17 on Wine Spectator's Top 100; the 2020 vintage received 93 points from James Suckling, 3 Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso, and a Gold Medal at The Drinks Business Global Sangiovese Masters.
