Wild-caught langostino tails sold by the pound from Costco's fresh seafood counter. Langostino, also known as squat lobster (Munida gregaria), is a small crustacean harvested from the cold Patagonian waters off the coast of Chile and Argentina. The meat has a sweet, delicate flavor and tender texture similar to lobster, making it an affordable alternative for lobster-style dishes.
This product is sold previously frozen and thawed for convenience at the seafood counter. Langostino tails are versatile and can be used in pasta dishes, seafood salads, lobster rolls, tacos, stir-fries, or simply sauteed in butter and garlic. The tails come pre-shelled, requiring minimal preparation before cooking.
