Charles Krug Generations is a Family Reserve Bordeaux-style red blend created to honor the Mondavi Family's winemaking legacy at Charles Krug, California's oldest premium winery founded in 1861. The blend consists of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, and 6% Merlot, with fruit night-picked from estate vineyards throughout Napa Valley and aged in new French oak barrels.

On the nose, the wine opens with vibrant aromas of blackberries, blueberries, pomegranate, dried thyme, and cigar box. On the palate, it is full-bodied with plush, well-integrated tannins and a round, creamy texture. Flavors of cassis, boysenberry, mixed berries, vanilla, and toasty oak lead to a long finish with notes of dark chocolate, bay leaf, and a subtle graphite edge.

Rated 93 points by James Suckling and 91 points by Wine Spectator, this wine drinks well now and can be cellared through 2030. Best served at 60–65°F; decanting for 30 minutes is recommended. Pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye steak, aged cheeses such as Gouda or cheddar, beef ragù, and mushroom risotto. Contains 14.9% alcohol by volume.
