Hugel "Gentil" is a dry aromatic white wine blend from Alsace, France, produced by Famille Hugel, one of Alsace's most storied estates with roots dating to 1639 and now in its 12th generation of family ownership. The wine revives an ancient Alsatian tradition in which wines assembled from noble grape varieties were called "Gentil," making it a signature expression of the region's blending heritage.

The blend draws on six classic Alsatian varieties — Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Blanc, and Sylvaner — each contributing distinct character: the suave spice of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris, the finesse of Riesling, the grapiness of Muscat, and the refreshing quality of Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner. Grapes are hand-harvested from clay and limestone vineyards across a dozen favored localities around the village of Riquewihr in Alsace. After pressing by gravity, the must is fermented in temperature-controlled vats and naturally clarified over winter before a light filtration and bottling under DIAM technical cork.

In the glass, the wine is pale yellow with green highlights and offers aromas of green apple, pear, lychee, passion fruit, and rose with a delicate Muscat lift. On the palate it is pleasantly dry, smooth, and harmonious, finishing with elegant aromatic purity. Alcohol is 12.7% with 4.3 g/l residual sugar. It pairs well with oysters, shellfish, seafood, sushi, grilled fish in light sauces, and lightly spiced Oriental, Indian, or Moroccan dishes, as well as white meats such as veal, pork, and poultry. Sold as a case of 12 x 750ML bottles. Serve chilled at 8°C.
