Prunus Skip Laurel #7 is a broadleaf evergreen shrub (Prunus laurocerasus 'Schipkaensis') sold in a 7-gallon nursery container. Also known as Schip Laurel or Schipka Cherry Laurel, it is one of the most popular choices for fast-growing privacy hedges and dense evergreen screens. The plant features a goblet-shaped, upright habit and grows 10 to 15 feet tall and 5 to 7 feet wide at maturity, with a rapid growth rate of up to 2 feet per year.

The foliage is glossy, dark green, and lanceolate—remaining rich and vibrant through winter, making this plant an excellent year-round screen. In late spring, clusters of fragrant white flowers appear along dense, cylindrical racemes up to 4 inches long, attracting bees and other pollinators. Small purple-black drupes follow in summer, providing seasonal food for songbirds, and the dense canopy offers valuable cover and nesting habitat for birds.

Skip Laurel adapts to full sun or partial shade and tolerates a wide range of soil types including clay, loam, silt, and sand, provided drainage is adequate. It is hardy in USDA Zones 5–9 and demonstrates strong resistance to deer, drought once established, urban pollution, salt, and poor soils. Light pruning after spring flowering maintains a formal hedge shape; the plant responds well to shearing.
