Inspired by old-world California field-blend traditions, it is made from estate Zinfandel vines averaging 50 years old, grown without irrigation in gravel-rich alluvial soils that impart distinctive complexity and structure.

The wine is co-fermented with Petite Sirah and Carignane, two high-acid, high-tannin companion grapes that provide backbone and acidity while allowing Zinfandel's exuberant summer fruit character to take center stage. Cold-soaked Petite Sirah is injected into the fermenting Zinfandel must, lowering overall sugar concentration, preserving natural acidity, and extending maceration for additional depth. Aging takes place almost entirely in small concrete vessels equivalent to four-barrel units, which preserves freshness and texture without adding oak-driven heaviness.
