Whitehall Lane Sauvignon Blanc is a refined Bordeaux-style white wine from the historic Rutherford Appellation of Napa Valley, crafted by winemaker Jason Moulton. The blend comprises approximately 81% Sauvignon Blanc and 19% Sémillon, a classic Bordeaux pairing that delivers a wine with a style all its own — balancing the racy acidity of a fine Graves with the sun-ripened fruit of Napa Valley.
The winemaking process is meticulous and multi-step. A majority of the fruit is whole-cluster pressed, while a small portion is destemmed and fermented as whole berries with 18 hours of grape skin contact to build mid-palate weight. Before fermentation, a portion of the juice undergoes cold stabulation — chilling at 40°F for 8 days — to heighten texture and aromatics. Seventy-five percent of the wine is cool-fermented in stainless steel tanks, while 25% is fermented in French oak barrels (10% new, 15% neutral), with native yeast fermentation, sur lies aging, and battonage (lees stirring) for four months.
The resulting wine pours a light gold and opens with forward aromas of citrus, lemon and lime, ripe peach, yellow apple, honeysuckle, and lemon curd. On the palate it is medium-bodied with lively acidity and a lingering, silky finish marked by notes of apple tart and brioche. It pairs beautifully with seafood, summer appetizers, and light hors d'oeuvres.
Whitehall Lane is a small, family-owned winery that has appeared three times in Wine Spectator Magazine's year-end ranking among the top five wines in the world. This case pack contains 12 bottles of 750 ML each.
