Masi Campofiorin is an iconic Italian red wine from Verona, classified as Rosso del Veronese IGT. Born in 1964, it is crafted using the Ripasso method — a double fermentation technique where freshly vinified wine made from Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes is refermented with 30% whole, semi-dried grapes of the same varieties. This process imparts greater richness of color, extracts, and aromas while producing softer, more refined tannins and an increase in alcohol complexity. Internationally recognized as a benchmark of Venetian winemaking, Campofiorin occupies a stylistic position between the everyday approachability of Valpolicella and the grandeur of Amarone.
The wine pours an intense ruby red and opens with aromas of ripe cherries and sweet spices. On the palate it is rich and velvety with intense cherry and berry fruit, good length, and soft tannins. Alcohol content is 13% by volume. It is best served at 18–20°C (64–68°F) and has an aging potential of 15–20 years.
Campofiorin is a wine of rare versatility, pairing beautifully with richly-sauced pasta dishes, grilled and roasted red meats, and the warm, spicy flavors of Mediterranean, Asian, and South American cuisines. Imported by Korrand Corporation, Purchase, NY. Product of Italy. Contains sulfites.
