Wild-caught Alaska cod fillet from Alaskan Leader Seafoods, sold per pound as a random weight item averaging 1.8 pounds per package. This premium cod is harvested by hook and line in the pristine waters of Alaska's Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska, then immediately processed onboard to capture fresh-caught ocean flavor. The fillet features snow white color, firm texture, and mild delicate flavor that works well with various cooking methods.
Alaska cod is low in calories and fat while high in protein, containing all essential amino acids. A 3-ounce serving provides approximately 72 calories and 16 grams of complete protein with only 0.4 grams of fat. It is an excellent source of vitamin B-12, vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, phosphorus, and selenium. The omega-3 content supports cardiovascular health by reducing inflammation and maintaining healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
The boneless, skinless fillet can be baked, poached, steamed, sauteed, broiled, or deep-fried for fish and chips. Its firm texture and mild taste make it ideal for seafood salads, casseroles, chowders, and pairs well with herbs, spices, sauces, and flavored butters. Frozen within hours of harvest to lock in freshness. Thaw under refrigeration before use. Shelf life 18 months when properly stored frozen.
