Caparzo Rosso di Montalcino is a classic Tuscan red wine produced by Tenuta Caparzo, one of Montalcino's most respected estates. Made from Sangiovese grapes grown in the renowned Montalcino appellation in Tuscany, Italy, this is the approachable younger sibling of the prestigious Brunello di Montalcino.
The wine pours an intense ruby red with a complex nose of violets, raspberries, and pomegranates. On the palate it is warm, dry, and rich with nice balance. Rosso di Montalcino by DOCG regulation is aged approximately one year before release, making it more fruit-forward and ready to drink younger than Brunello. This wine has earned professional ratings of 91โ92 points, with critics noting graceful aromas of roses and strawberries, silken textures, juicy acidity, and a long finish with licorice concentration.
Pairs well with red meats, pasta, legume-based soups, and aged cheeses. Sold as a case of 12 bottles, 750ML each.
