Matthews Claret is a Bordeaux-style red blend from Washington State's Columbia Valley, crafted by Matthews Winery under the stewardship of the Otis family since 2008. This richly layered wine is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, sourced from prestigious vineyard parcels across Horse Heaven Hills, Red Mountain, the Royal Slope AVA, and the acclaimed Conner Lee vineyard.

The wine is aged for 19 months in French oak (27% new, 73% used), developing a complex and polished character. Aromas of ripe plums, black currants, wild berries, dark chocolate, and dark spices define the nose, while the palate delivers bourbon cherries, violets, blackberry pie, and allspice. Full-bodied with broad, velvety tannins and a dense, persistent finish, this is a rich and brooding wine with exceptional depth.

At 14.9% ABV, it pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, pork, roasted chicken, and aged hard cheeses. The 12-bottle case offering makes it ideal for stocking a cellar or sharing at gatherings.
