Château La Louvière Blanc is a distinguished dry white wine from the Pessac-Léognan appellation in Bordeaux, France, produced by the André Lurton family at their historic estate in Cadaujac. The estate dates back to the late 1300s and has been in the Lurton family since 1965, with the château itself classified as a national architectural treasure by the French government.
The white wine is crafted from 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Sémillon, grown on 13.5 hectares of gravel and limestone soils with vines averaging 25 years of age. Grapes are whole-cluster pressed with no skin contact and no malolactic fermentation, allowing the wine to retain its natural freshness and vivid acidity. Alcoholic fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks before continuing in approximately 45% new French oak barrels, where the wine ages on its lees for up to nine months prior to bottling.
The wine expresses aromas of grapefruit, lemon curd, green apple, honeysuckle, and flint, with a medium-to-full-bodied palate featuring bright acidity, creamy texture, and refreshing minerality. It is among the finest dry white wines in the Graves region and has received consistent scores of 90–94 points from major critics across its best recent vintages (2018–2024).
Serve slightly chilled at around 15°C (60°F). It pairs beautifully with shellfish, sushi, sashimi, seafood, chicken, veal, and cheese. The wine is best enjoyed with 4–7 years of bottle age and can cellar well for 10–15 years from the vintage.
