This 16-inch citrus tree comes in an assorted decorative pot and is perfect for patio, balcony, or indoor growing. The 9.3 gallon (35 liter) container provides ample room for the root system to establish and grow. Citrus varieties may include Meyer lemon, navel orange, grapefruit, or other popular citrus types.
Citrus trees are especially suited for container growing and can be kept at manageable sizes through pruning. They thrive with 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily and prefer acidic soil with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. The trees require consistent watering to keep soil moist but never soggy, with the soil allowed to dry slightly about 2 inches deep between waterings. Feed with citrus-specific fertilizer every other month during the growing season (spring through early fall), but avoid fertilizing during winter months.
For cold climate gardeners (zones 3-7), these trees can be brought indoors during winter and placed near a south-facing window where temperatures stay around 50-65°F. In warmer zones (8-10), citrus trees can remain outdoors year-round. The decorative pot features proper drainage holes essential for healthy citrus growth. Trees typically reach 6-10 feet tall in containers but can be maintained at smaller sizes with regular pruning. Grafted semi-dwarf citrus varieties are self-fertile and can begin producing fruit within 1-2 years under proper care.
