The Meyer Lemon Hedge is a dense, fruiting citrus shrub trained into a compact hedge form, measuring approximately 35 inches tall by 13 inches wide at the time of sale. Sold in a 14-gallon (53-liter) container, this is a substantial, established plant ready to be placed in a garden bed, large patio pot, or used as a decorative fruiting hedge.
Meyer lemons are a cross between a true lemon and a mandarin orange, producing fruit that is sweeter and less tart than conventional lemons. The fruit features thin, smooth, deep-yellow skin and exceptionally juicy flesh, making it popular for culinary use in cooking, baking, and beverages. The tree blooms with fragrant white flowers and produces fruit that can ripen throughout the year in mild climates.
The hedge form is ideal for patios, entryways, or garden borders where both ornamental appeal and fresh fruit production are desired. Meyer lemon trees thrive in full sun (at least 6–8 hours per day), in well-draining soil, and are suitable for USDA hardiness zones 9–11 outdoors or in containers in cooler climates where they can be brought indoors during frost. Regular watering, balanced citrus fertilizer, and occasional pruning maintain the hedge shape and support fruiting.
