Bodegas Vatan Tritón Tinta de Toro is a red wine from the Toro denomination of origin in Castilla y León, Spain — the only Spanish D.O. that completely resisted the phylloxera plague. This wine is made from Tinta de Toro, the oldest clone of Tempranillo grown on old vines, yielding a concentrated, expressive expression of the grape variety at 15% alcohol by volume.

In the glass, the wine pours a dark, deep purple with aromas of mixed red and dark berries and wild flowers on the nose. The palate is medium-plus to full-bodied with flavors of cherry, blueberry, blackberry, and plum, finishing with lively acidity and a dry, clean close. The wine is very fresh and grows even more complex with time in the glass.

Tritón has earned strong critical acclaim, including 93 points from James Suckling, 92 from Vinous, and 91 from Jeb Dunnuck. It is an exceptional value that overdelivers for its price point and pairs equally well with food or friends.
