Lincourt Estate Rancho Santa Rosa Pinot Noir is a single-vineyard Pinot Noir sourced from the Rancho Santa Rosa Vineyard in the acclaimed Sta. Rita Hills AVA of Santa Barbara County, California. Founded in 1996, Lincourt produces boutique, ultra-premium estate wines with handcrafted, small-lot bottling that showcases the distinct character of each vineyard site.
This wine opens with aromas of ripe fruit, dark boysenberry, and ribbons of red and black fruit. On the palate it delivers classic notes of black pepper, boysenberry, plum, and dark cherry, finishing with notes of dark cacao and pomegranate. The wine features moderate tannins, balanced acidity, and lush fruit on the finish.
The fruit is hand sorted and carefully destemmed to keep berries intact before transfer to small stainless steel open-top fermenters. Following a 4-day cold soak, the wine undergoes gentle punch-downs during fermentation. After primary fermentation, the Pinot Noir is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels with 20% new oak. Pairs well with veal, pork, poultry, and mushroom dishes. Contains sulfites.
