Cecchi Storia di Famiglia Chianti Classico is a DOCG-certified red wine from the Chianti Classico appellation in Tuscany, Italy. Crafted by the Cecchi family winery, it is composed primarily of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino, and is bottled at 13.5% ABV. The name "Storia di Famiglia" — meaning "Family Story" — reflects the passion behind each grape harvest and the winery's multi-generational heritage.
The wine opens with a deep, inviting aroma of raspberry, ripe red and black cherry, leather, spice, and flowers. On the palate it is medium-bodied, smooth, and juicy, with tart berry fruit, mineral edges, leather, spice, and hints of tobacco and vanilla on the long finish. Slightly chewy tannins add structure. The wine benefits from extended air exposure and shows even more complexity on the second day. Best served at 16–18°C and pairs well with traditional Italian dishes, grilled meats, and pasta with rich tomato-based sauces.
This wine has received 91 points from both Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, and was ranked #59 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2023. It is imported by Terlato Wines International. Costco carries it in a 12-bottle case format.
