Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey is a Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky rye crafted by Heaven Hill Distillery following centuries-old Monongahela Rye traditions originating in Pennsylvania. The whiskey is made from a mash of at least 51% rye grain, distilled and then aged in new, charred American oak casks for a minimum of four years — though the average age is closer to six years — and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).

On the nose, the whiskey presents aromas of cocoa, toasted rye, and oak spices alongside hints of vanilla and caramel. The palate delivers rich, intense chocolate, cloves, and warm spices, balanced by sweeter notes of vanilla, orange zest, and raisins. The finish is long and elegant with lingering touches of cocoa beans, baking spices, and allspice.

Rittenhouse Rye has earned the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, where it was also named North American Whiskey of the Year. Wine Enthusiast awarded it 94 points and included it in the Top 50 Spirits of 2010. Whisky Advocate recognized it as Best Buy Whisky of the Year, and Whisky Magazine named it Best North American Whisky.
