Produttori del Barbaresco is one of Italy's most celebrated wine cooperatives, founded in 1958 in the village of Barbaresco in Piedmont's Langhe hills. The cooperative unites over 50 member families who farm 120 hectares of Nebbiolo vineyards exclusively within the Barbaresco DOCG appellation, delivering outstanding quality and value in one of Italy's most prestigious red wines.
Crafted entirely from Nebbiolo grapes — the noble variety also responsible for Barolo — this Barbaresco DOCG offers classic aromas of cherry, rose, and warm spice, with a rich, layered palate that develops notes of leather, dried plum, licorice, and earthy minerality. Medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and firm, structured tannins typical of the variety, the wine presents an elegant and traditional expression of the Barbaresco terroir.
As with all fine Barbaresco, this wine benefits greatly from patience. Experts recommend cellaring for seven or more years to allow the tannins to soften and the full complexity to emerge. If opened young, decanting for at least an hour is strongly advised. An ideal pairing with braised meats, slow-roasted lamb, aged hard cheeses, and classic Piedmontese pasta dishes such as tajarin or plin.
