Rodney Strong Sonoma County Chardonnay is a classic California white wine from one of Sonoma's most established family-owned wineries, with over 60 years of growing experience in the region. Sold at Costco in cases of 12 x 750 mL bottles, this wine offers excellent everyday value with a retail average around $12 per bottle.

The wine is 60% barrel fermented and aged in French oak barrels with monthly lees stirring, while 40% is aged in stainless steel to preserve freshness. Approximately 25% of the wine skips malolactic fermentation, lending a crisp, bright character alongside the richer, creamy elements. Fruit is sourced from cooler coastal sites in and around Sonoma County, including Monterey and Santa Barbara, contributing lively tropical notes, lemon curd, and pear with a creamy, subtly spicy finish. The wine comes in at a balanced 13.5% ABV.

This Chardonnay pairs well with grilled asparagus, seared tuna with mango-avocado salsa, apple and brie grilled cheese, and dishes featuring mushrooms. It has earned an average critic score of 87/100 and is consistently celebrated for balancing California sunshine with freshness and sophistication.
