Castiglion del Bosco Brunello di Montalcino is a prestigious Italian red wine from one of Tuscany's most historic estates, situated in the province of Siena within the renowned Brunello di Montalcino appellation. The estate, which encompasses approximately 4,450 acres of land including 125 acres of vineyards, was among the first to produce and bottle Brunello di Montalcino in the 1960s and remains one of the region's most important properties. Perched on a hillside overlooking the surrounding valleys near the historic towns of Buonconvento and Montalcino, the vineyard's exceptional position provides optimal sun exposure and yields wines of remarkable quality.

This Brunello is crafted from 100% Sangiovese (Brunello clone) grapes sourced from the flagship Capanna vineyards, where clay schist soils and high altitude contribute trademark elegance and complexity. The wine matures for 24 months in barrels of varying sizes, with a preference for larger botti of 30 to 50 hectolitres, then is released five years after harvest. Upon release, it offers vibrant aromas of ripe berries, pepper, and sweet cinnamon lifted by delicate white floral notes. On the palate, it delivers richness, bright acidity, and fine integrated tannins with a supple texture and long, mineral-driven finish.

The 2019 vintage has earned outstanding critical recognition, including 96 points from James Suckling, 94 points from both Jeb Dunnuck and Wine Enthusiast, and 94 points from Wine Spectator. Critics note flavors of cherry, cedar, spice, Mandarin orange blossom, and sweet tobacco, with a structure suited for drinking now through 2043.
